Summertime can be an ideal season to discover how easy it is to blend financial awareness into the natural rhythms of your family's day.
Here are a few ideas:
START NEW HABITS/ROUTINES
With the rush of school in the rear view mirror, summer is a slower-paced time to introduce habits or activities. With the pressure of school off, take a few minutes to show them how to fold a towel, make the bed correctly or put the recycling in the right spot.

EARN MONEY (VIA JOBS/LEMONADE STAND/ETC.)
Maybe the most summer-y of things for kids to learn about and earn money is the lemonade stand. Brainstorm ideas together -- odd jobs around the house, manual labor for family or neighbors, and entrepreneurial things like selling goods or services are all potentials.
REFRESH YOUR ROUTINES
The ultimate goal of your summer should be to re-tool your existing routines to include financial things.
Do you eat dinner together around a table? Perfect! Why not add some questions about money to your conversations.
Do you read to your kids? Awesome! Why not add a book that highlights financial concepts. You can find some ideas in our shop.
